  The Journey to Adulthood

 

The Journey to Adulthood is a complete youth ministry program of spiritual formation for 6th-12th graders. It encourages relational ministry and uses Bible study, prayer, rites of passage, outreach ministries and both serious and playful activities to underscore the two guiding principles of the program:  1) Manhood and womanhood are free gifts from God; and 2) Adulthood must be earned.

 

The Journey to Adulthood programs are endorsed by our Diocese and taught by trained members of our congregation.

 

Rite-13

Middle School: 6th-8th Grades

 

Rite-13 celebrates the individuality of each young teen and their creative potential, while exploring Biblical stories of God and God's people. The Rite-13 liturgy (Celebration of Manhood and Womanhood) is the community expression of this, and serves as a rite of passage from childhood towards adulthood.

 

Tony Anderson is our study-led teacher, and this program will be offered on selected Sundays at 9:45 am during the school year. Please check the calendar for "Rite-13" dates.

J2A 

High School: 9th-12th Grades

 

J2A is a program that helps teens understand the importance of Christian community as they develop the critical thinking and leadership skills they will need in adulthood. They also learn about and share ideas for maintaining their Christian identity at a time when they are surrounded by temptation and peer pressure. 

 

Peg Pearson is our study-led teacher, and this program will be offered on selected Sundays at 9:45 am during the school year. Please check the calendar for "J2A" dates.

 Youth Group

6th-12th Grades

 

Every Wedesday evening from 6:30-8:00 pm, our 6th-12th graders meet in the social hall for fun activities, bible study and to discuss outreach opportunities.
